CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Mediomatrici. 2nd century BC. 1/4 Stater (Gold, 15 mm, 1.65 g, 6 h). Celticized head of Apollo to right. Rev. Celticized Pegasos flying right; below tail and belly, three pellets in triangular form; below right foreleg, rosette; in exergue, two lines of pellets. Allen, SNR 53 (1974), 210. DT 108. Flesche 253. LT -. Scheers, TNC, p. 23, 88 (this coin). SLM 491-495. A beautiful example of this attractive issue with a fine pedigree. Die break on the reverse and some minor areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
